Treatments & Services

General Footcare

During a general footcare consultation, we will trim and file your toenails, and carefully remove any debris or dead skin around the nails using sterile podiatry instruments. We offer safe and effective treatment for calluses, corns, warts, and various skin and nail conditions. Our goal is to restore and maintain your foot health.

Medical Pedicure

Put your feet in good hands and experience the ultimate in footcare with a Medi-Pedi at Footsteps Podiatry. Performed by Podiatrists, our medical pedicures combine the luxury of a relaxing treatment with the expertise of medical care. Unlike some nail salons, we use specialised, sterile podiatry instruments and equipment. Our Medi-Pedi is a thorough skin and nail treatment that will leave your feet feeling healthy, nourished and beautiful.

Injury Management

Podiatrists play a crucial role in assessing and managing foot and lower limb injuries such as: sprains, fractures, plantar faciitis, and a wide range of both acute and chronic conditions. No matter the cause of the injury, we are here to support you,  from assessment and diagnosis through to rehabilitation and ongoing management.

Foot Pain & Biomechanics

A biomechanical assessment involves an examination of how your joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons move. We utilise functional assessment techniques to gain insight into your range of motion, muscle strength & weakness, stability, foot posture and flexibility. This allows our Podiatrists to determine what is causing your pain and/or problems and what we can do to help.

Shockwave Therapy

* Available only in our Lavington clinic

Shockwave therapy is an advanced, non-invasive form of treatment. A device is used to emit radial pressure waves through a hand piece. When applied to areas of concern this induces several physiological effects, influencing the body's self-healing capabilities. Evidence shows this type of treatment can significantly contribute to healing and regeneration. Your podiatrist may prescribe this type of treatment for conditions involving chronic inflammation, pain, and those that are unresponsive to other treatments.

Ingrown Toenail Treatments & Surgery

We are experienced in assessing and treating this common, painful condition. We offer multiple treatment options, depending on the cause of the pain and/or inflammation. We work with you to explore the best treatment approach for you. We will discuss both surgical and non-surgical options and expected  outcomes.
For reoccurring ingrown nails, we may recommend surgical removal of all or part of the nail as the best long term solution. This procedure is performed by our qualified podiatrists in a sterile environment, using local anaesthetic .

Corn, Callous and Wart Treatment

These are common conditions that can worsen or reoccur without treatment. Along with performing clinical treatments, podiatrists are able to identify potential underlying causes to help prevent future issues. If you're struggling with these conditions, don't wait for them to worsen. Most treatments are painless or cause only minimal discomfort. Our podiatrists ensure your comfort and peace of mind throughout any visit.

Wound Care

Correct treatment of foot and lower limb wounds is important to reduce the risk of infection and promote proper healing. Our podiatrists will conduct a thorough examination of the wound and identify any signs of infection or complications. We are experienced in all aspects of wound management including cleaning, debridment,  application of appropriate dressings, and recommendations for offloading techniques to reduce pressure on the wound. We will offer instruction for wound care at home and how to monitor for signs of infection. For patients with conditions such as diabetes or poor circulation, professional wound care can help prevent further complications.
